作者简介 约翰·理查德·希尔（1929—2017），英国海军少将。从1946年开始在英国海军服役，1946—1947年在英海军“中国舰队”任中尉，曾在英国国防部、皇家国防研究学院、伦敦国王学院等机构工作，1983年退役。他在海军实操和理论研究领域均有丰富经验，退役后主要从事海军史、军事史相关写作研究。有多部关于海上战争、战略和军备控制的著作，并在世界各地发表相关演讲，此外还担任过《海军评论》杂志的编辑和航海研究学会的主席。2000年因对海军史研究作出杰出贡献而获巴顿山海事奖，是该奖的首个获奖者。 译者简介 侯美，国防大学国家安全学院讲师，《军事历史研究》编辑，研究方向为外国军事思想与外国军事历史。
